NetQin Mobile Security Center has captured a new variant of the virus BaseBridge on Android devices. The virus can be embedded in various applications. During installation of the app, it will prompt the user to upgrade, which actually activates the installation package of the virus. The virus will steal private information of the virus and send it out over the internet. After that, it will dial calls or block messages from the carrier according to commands sent back from the server. This results in fee consumption.
